Mother’s Day Week

Coming Up This Week:

In honor of Mother’s Day (for you guys: its this coming Sunday the 9th :)) I am going to have a couple of stories written by other people featured on my blog. If you have a story to share; I would still love to feature it (see my Projects page for more details)!

Those of you who have kids (and maybe some who don’t) might get a laugh out of the following post:  America’s Most Stressful Jobs . . . Whatever

I have slowly been adding more Praying Scripture posts. Since there are 260 chapters in the New Testament; this project might take awhile. But I’m up for the challenge! Let me know if there is a specific book or chapter that you would like me to do early on in the project. Unless I hear from anyone with specific requests; for now I am just jumping around in no particular order.

As always, I would love to hear from you either in the comment sections of my posts or by personal e-mail. Any suggestions are also welcome!

Praying Scripture: Galatians (Ch. 5)

Read: Galatians–Chapter 5

Key Verses: Galatians 5:19-24 “The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.”

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending Christ to set me free. Help me to stand firm in my faith as I grow in righteousness. I pray that you will give me opportunities to show my faith by sharing Christ’s love. Lord, I know that there are times when I am led astray and I follow temptation into sin. I pray that you will continue to convict my heart and draw be back to you in those times. Please help me to continue to run the race toward being Christlike. I pray that you will give me a servant’s heart so that I can show others your love. Help me to remember your commands and obey them in love and not for show. Holy Spirit, guide me so that I follow you instead of my sinful nature. There are so many times when my spirit is in conflict with my nature. I want to follow what I know is right so that I am not led into sin. Keep me away from sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions envy, drunkenness, orgies, etc. Even if any of these sins become a temptation for me; I pray that I will follow your Spirit and obey your commands. Lord Jesus, I want my life to produce the fruit that comes from you. Give me a spirit of love, a spirit of joy, a spirit of peace, a spirit of patience, a spirit of kindness, a spirit of goodness, a spirit of faithfulness, a spirit of gentleness, and a spirit of self-control. I know that if I live in the Spirit that I will be able to stand firm when temptation crosses my path. I praise you for continuing to help me grow in you. Amen.
