Abortion Doctor Faces 8 Counts Of Murder…

Is this surprising? (Read full article here and another article here.)

“Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 69, faces eight counts of murder in the deaths of a woman following a botched abortion at his office, along with the deaths of seven other babies who, prosecutors allege, were born alive following illegal late-term abortions and then were killed by severing their spinal cords with a pair of scissors…”

“Gosnell is facing charges of murder in the third degree for the death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar.  Mrs. Mongar died on November 20, 2009, when she was overdosed with anesthetics prescribed by Gosnell.  He is also facing seven murder charges for the deaths of infants who were killed after being born viable and alive during the sixth, seventh, or eighth month of pregnancy. Gosnell is also facing numerous other charges.”

“Gosnell is suspected of killing hundreds of living babies over the course of his 30-year practice. However, he is not charged because the records do not exist.”

To someone who believes that it is “okay” or a “woman’s right to choose” when an abortion occurs, it may come as a shock that some doctors can kill an aborted baby who was born alive. A lot of people, who support abortion, will find what this doctor has done as wrong.

My question is WHY? Is it because the babies were in the the third trimester of pregnancy? Is it because they actually could have survived with medical treatment after birth? Is it because an actual grown woman died?

What about all of the babies aborted before the third trimester? Male, Female, Black, White, Hispanic, etc. Abortion affects all genders and all races. It doesn’t matter if the baby was born alive after an attempted abortion and then died or if they died during a “successful” abortion. The fact is they are all human, they are all alive…until someone killed them.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.

When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

your eyes saw my unformed body.

All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Psalm 139:13-16

A Billion Reasons Why

This book by: Kristin Billerbeck is about a young woman named Katie McKenna who lives in California, works as a school teacher, and is almost engaged to be married to a predictable guy named Dexter. Her ex boyfriend, who also happens to be multimillionaire Luc DeForges, shows up and requests that she return home to New Orleans to sing and dance at his brother’s wedding. She makes a business arrangement with him for the sole purpose of going home to get her grandmother’s wedding ring so that Dexter can use it when he proposes. Katie quickly realizes that she has to face her past: her mother, her grief over her father’s death, her passion for singing and dancing, and most importantly her feelings for Luc.

Until now, I have never read any books by this author. After reading this book, I would like to pick up some of her other titles! I thought that this book was an easy read,  and it felt like I was watching a good chic flick romance movie. I could easily picture the characters as they interacted through the pages. I did feel that a lot of the book was predictable but not in a bad way. Some plots in the book were not predictable which made it interesting. I like how Billerbeck used Katie’s struggle to understand her emotions and tied it into her relationship with God. Overall, this is a great story that I would recommend to anyone who likes Christian romance novels. This is a great addition to my personal library!
