Here is a poem that I wrote in 2005…

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10

I am surrounded by a river of confusion:

Trying not to get caught up in the current,

Trying to swim against the flow of doubt,

Drowning in the whirlpool of life.

–

I am scared about what is coming;

Knowing that in the end it will be alright.

Whatever the outcome of the future;

I can rest in the arms of Christ.

–

I am amazed by the ultimate conclusion:

That trials and troubles may come to haunt me,

But I reach out for God’s hand of strength,

And He rescues me from the battles I fight.
