My Thoughts For The Week:
I am still struggling with motivation. I think Kendal is too. We really have not established a steady routine with homeschooling or anything else. I’m sure that is normal for just moving and still being without most of our belongings. I am also finding it hard to do school with Kendal with Audrey in the house. The only times we get anything (other than the movies) accomplished is when Audrey is sleeping or out of the house with Shane. This week we did not work on a Bible verse. Kendal doesn’t seem to be memorizing them at all. Although I know she is capable of memorizing; I’m thinking that with everything that I am doing she may need more than just one week per verse. I need to think that through a bit.
My Project For The Week:
Remember the rainbow using tapioca finger paint?
1. I drew the outline of a rainbow on butcher paper (left over paper from unpacking our shipment).
2. I took store bought tapioca (in the individual snack cups) and mixed 2 drops of food coloring to 6 different cups.
3. I spooned one color at a time in the outline of the coordinating color spot. Kendal used her fingers to spread it around. I helped by making sure colors didn’t go into other spots. I also filled in any white areas she missed. Kendal continually ate the pudding (which was kind of the point of using tapioca!)
4. After letting the rainbow sit for a few minutes, I used my pampered chef scraper and carefully scraped off the excess tapioca. I scraped a few colors at a time which allowed them to blend slightly.
5. Then, I carefully cut out the rainbow (because it is wet it can tear easily) and hung it to dry. I recommend hanging so that air can get to both sides to dry quicker.
6. Finally, after it dried, I stapled it to the wall in our school room!
My Plans For Next Week:
Monday I am going out of town to have a dental procedure. The rest of the week will obviously depend on how I am feeling.
