“Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 69, faces eight counts of murder in the deaths of a woman following a botched abortion at his office, along with the deaths of seven other babies who, prosecutors allege, were born alive following illegal late-term abortions and then were killed by severing their spinal cords with a pair of scissors…”
“Gosnell is facing charges of murder in the third degree for the death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar. Mrs. Mongar died on November 20, 2009, when she was overdosed with anesthetics prescribed by Gosnell. He is also facing seven murder charges for the deaths of infants who were killed after being born viable and alive during the sixth, seventh, or eighth month of pregnancy. Gosnell is also facing numerous other charges.”
“Gosnell is suspected of killing hundreds of living babies over the course of his 30-year practice. However, he is not charged because the records do not exist.”
To someone who believes that it is “okay” or a “woman’s right to choose” when an abortion occurs, it may come as a shock that some doctors can kill an aborted baby who was born alive. A lot of people, who support abortion, will find what this doctor has done as wrong.
My question is WHY? Is it because the babies were in the the third trimester of pregnancy? Is it because they actually could have survived with medical treatment after birth? Is it because an actual grown woman died?
What about all of the babies aborted before the third trimester? Male, Female, Black, White, Hispanic, etc. Abortion affects all genders and all races. It doesn’t matter if the baby was born alive after an attempted abortion and then died or if they died during a “successful” abortion. The fact is they are all human, they are all alive…until someone killed them.

I agree. If someone doesn’t want to have a child, there are plenty of options out there to prevent them. But modern society frowns on anything which limits their “freedoms”, and thus become slaves to their own natural desires, thinking they are free.
they should punish this doctor the same way he murdered the innocent
babies…..
I can’t say that I agree that is the best way to deal with the situation. One thing is for sure, he needs to be stopped!
It is very disturbing to think what this man has done and others may be doing elsewhere. Considering the issue of abortion I think people forget that the women getting the operation do so because they feel it’s the only way out and was not taught properly. It is the modern worlds moral relativism (if its right for me it’s right for me.) is what got us here. If people took seriously the importance of human sexuality and one of its consequences a baby instead of being selfish people worried about what’s going to happen to me. If they were not ready for a sexual relationship they were not ready for a child. In a perfect world we wouldn’t have these unexpected pregnancies. However we are not and as a society need to be more supportive of the women who would otherwise choose apportion without the support of friends and family. We can’t all agree abortion is wrong but I like to think we can agree that the women who become pregnant need our support and love. Maybe this would help make the issue of abortion something of the past. A far stretch I know but people also never thought we would make it to the moon once.
I agree that pregnant women need our support and love especially if they feel they have no other options than abortion. Unfortunately, that does not make abortion any less wrong. Doctors who perform abortions seem to be able to compartmentalize. They look at one woman and call their baby a “baby” and they look at another woman and call their baby a “fetus.” They give life to one and cause death for another. We need more doctors willing to speak out against abortion and actually teach women their options before and during pregnancy.
