Praying Scripture: 1 Peter (Ch. 1)

Read: 1 Peter–Chapter 1

Key Verses: 1 Peter 1:13-16 “Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise you for your mercy and living hope that we have because of your resurrection. Thank you for providing an inheritance in heaven for me and my family. I am truly amazed by your power that shields your children.  I put my faith in you and look forward to your return. Although I have had a lot of grief and many trials throughout my life; I praise you for always being there to comfort and guide me through them.  I know that my faith has grown stronger because of my trials and I give you all of the glory for that. I pray that you will give me self control so that I can be obedient to you and your word. Lead me away from temptation and evil desires. Please make me holy so that I can someday stand in your presence completely pure. Help me to be a living example of who you are so that others can see and believe the truth. Help me to love others as you have loved me. Thank you so much for your wonderful gift of salvation even when I am unworthy of it. Amen.
