Praying Scripture: 1 Peter (Ch. 5)

Read: 1 Peter–Chapter 5

Key Verses: 1 Peter 5:7-10 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for my pastors and the leaders in my church. I pray that you will give them guideance as they shepherd and lead our congregation. Help them to continue to live according to your word so that they can be good examples to those in our church. I pray that they will receive the crown of glory that you have set aside for them in heaven. Lord God, I pray for the young men in our churches and in our world; that they will learn how to live Godly lives from those who you have placed over them. Give me a spirit of humility towards people who I come in contact with and especially towards you. Help me to get rid of all of the pride in my heart. Lord Jesus, it is sometimes hard not to be anxious and worry over the things that come up in my life. Help me to give my worries to you so that I can be at peace and know that you will take care of me and my family. Mighty God, help me to have self-control and be alert. I know that the devil would like to lead me into temptation and convince me to believe in lies. I pray that you will give me the power to stand firm in my faith and to resist the things that the devil puts in my path to bring me down. I pray that you will also give my brothers and sisters around the world the power to stand firm in their faith as well. I will be sure to give you all of the glory and honor for the strength that you continue to give to me. Help me remember and stand fast in your grace and peace. Amen.
