Read: Philippians–Chapter 4
Key Verses: Philippians 4:4-9 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
Dear Heavenly Father, Once again I am encouraged to stand firm in my faith in you. I pray that you will continue to give me the strength to do this. I pray that I won’t be a source of contention with my fellow Christians and that we will always be in agreement as we journey in Christ. Thank you for all of the wonderful Godly women and friends that you have placed in my life. Lord Jesus, it is easy to rejoice in you when times are good! Please help me to also rejoice in you when things are not going well. Give me a gentle spirit; especially with my husband and children. I pray that you will help me not to be anxious about the things that come up in my life. I thank you for allowing me to communicate with you through prayer. Thank you for your peace that continues to help me guard my heart and mind. Help me to always think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. When I think on those things; I know that it leaves no room for worry. Help me not only to think on these things but also to live them out. Lord, please teach me to be content with the things you have provided for me and my family. We have been trained to think we need bigger and better things. Yet you have already blessed us with so much. Help me to teach my children how to be content by being a good example. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength! Thank you for continually reminding me of this! Jesus, help me to be a cheerful giver of my money, time, and talents to my church and to others who are working to further your kingdom. You have given us so much but even though we have these things; they are still yours. Thank you for meeting all of my needs and the needs of my family. I am humbled by the grace you have given me even when I am so undeserving. Amen.
