Praying Scripture: 1 John (Ch. 2)

Read: 1 John–Chapter 2

Key Verses: 1 John 2:15-17 “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise you for forgiving me of all my sins. Thank you for sending Jesus to pay my penalty on the cross. Help me to honor you by obeying your commands. I want to obey your word. Jesus, help me to love others and to forgive others as you love and forgive them. I want to live in the light and allow you to shine through me as a beacon in a dark world. Lead me away from the world’s temptation so that I do not fall into sin. Thank you for your promise of eternal life with you. Lord God, help me to be aware of false teachers so that I will not be lead astray. Thank you for the truth that you have placed in me through the Holy Spirit. Amen.
